2008/09 Year End Performance

2008/09 Year End Performance

Introduced from April 2008, Assessments of Policing and Community Safety (APACS) is the new performance assessment framework intended to monitor and assess the crime and community safety work of the police and their partners.

APACS replaced a number of assessment systems previously used for monitoring crime and disorder, including PPAF. This simplified framework will reduce the number of measures by which the police and others are judged in terms of their success on crime and community safety, and reduce the demands of central government. The framework introduces a more balanced way of monitoring progress and focuses better on the most serious crimes.

As a result, following a lengthy consultation process with the Force and CDRP partners, the Authority set the Force some stretching targets against APACS indicators seen as priority areas for performance improvement in 2008/09.
