Older People
Last year, 49% of people who spoke to us at one of our
engagement events were 60 or over. We are extremely grateful that
so many older people make the effort to come out and consult with
the police authority on a regular basis. We want to make sure that
we continue to build on this result so that older people feel
listened to and supported by the police authority.
What have we done?
Whilst we try to make sure all of our consultation is open to
everyone by choosing accessible venues and varying the times events
are held, we also consult specifically with older people. Authority
members and local police officers are engaging with Merseyside
Pensioner's Federation, Liverpool Senior Citizens Forum and the
Older People's Parliament. Feedback from our recent events with
older people have shown us that their top three priorities are:
Tackling anti-social behaviour
More police officers on the beat
Tackling drug/alcohol related crime
